Monday 5 September 2011

The UEFA Futsal EURO 2012 finals draw will be made at Zagreb's Hypo Expo XXI conference centre from 11.30CET on Friday with live streaming on UEFA.com.

Twelve teams will compete in Zagreb and Split from 31 January until 11 February next year in the first UEFA final tournament to be hosted by Croatia since independence. The balls will be picked out by former Croatia striker Davor Šuker and the UEFA Futsal EURO 2012 ambassador, whose identity will be revealed during a ceremony that also features UEFA Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee chairman Borislav Mihaylov and Croatian Football Federation (HNS) president Vlatko Markovic.

Four groups of three will be formed, with each section containing a team from each of a trio of seeding pots. In Pot 1 are hosts Croatia (automatically placed in Group A), holders Spain – aiming for a fourth straight title – 2003 champions Italy and 2010 runners-up Portugal; Pot 2 features 1999 winners Russia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Serbia; Pot 3 consists of Azerbaijan, Romania, Slovenia and first-time qualifiers Turkey.

Matches will be played at the capital's Zagreb Arena, including the final, and Split's Spaladium Arena, venue for Croatia's group games.

Media representatives interested in attending the final draw are requested to apply directly to the HNS via email to davor.gavran@hns-cff.hr.
