Bintulu, Kuching shine in Maksak futsal

KAPIT: Bintulu and Kuching division shone in the State level Maksak Futsal competitions as they each won the Men and Women category at the Indoor stadium of the Integrated Sport Complex Jalan Bleteh here on recently.

Bintulu edged Kuching 2-1 in the men’s final last Sunday to win the championship title.

Kuching was in second and in joint third placing were Sibu and Sarikei.

In the women’s final, Kuching beat Betong 3-0 to second place.

Coming in joint third were host team Kapit A and Mukah.

As winners they were rewarded with trophies and medals.

Shahraniza Amil from Kuching who scored five goals in the competition was adjudged the top scorer of the Men category while Rogayah Ali also from Kuching won the award in the women category. She netted six goals throughout the competition.

The Fair Play award of the men’s category was won by Sarikei while the host team, Kapit A won in the women.

Meanwhile the Oldest Player Award in the men’s category went to Hendry Anyie from Mukah and Nuriah Binti Muntiol from Sri Aman won the title for the women.

Present to officiate at the prize-giving cum closing ceremony was Kapit Maksak Chairman who is also Kapit Resident, Dahim Nadot.

Also present were Deputy Residents, Mohd Ikhmal Abdullah (Social) and Selamat Jati Yanjah (Development), and Kapit Police Chief– DSP Entusa Imam.

All divisions except for Miri, took part the meet.
