Futsal Super Series at end of the month

SARIKEI: The Futsal Super Series 2011 is scheduled here on Oct 29 and 30.

Once again, the organising committee is expecting a good response. Since its inception in 2008, the competition has been able to attract the top teams from the other Divisions.

Among them were Hornet from Kuching and Bankers from Betong both of which had previously won the Series, according to organising chairman, Awangku Perseh Pengiran Abu Bakar.

“While expecting teams from outside, we also hope to see more local sides taking part,” he said.

Local teams like Den & Sons and AZ United had also been champions before, he added after chairing the committee meeting.

The two-day tournament will be held at the Social Development Ministry indoor futsal stadium here.

Intending teams are requested to register not later than 2.30pm Oct 28. The entry fee is RM200 per team.

Apart from the challenge trophy, the champion will receive a trophy, medals and RM1,500 while the runner-up will receive a trophy, medals and RM800.

Besides medals, third and fourth teams also will receive RM500 and RM200.

The competition is organised by the Divisional Football Refrees Association (Safra).
