The competition is set to feature five-a-side matches in three categories the children's division for participants aged nine to 13; the youth category for those aged 14 to 17; and the seniors' group for all players 18 and above.
The tournament has been organised in memory of the Late Hisham Fulath. It seeks to bring together young athletes from all over the kingdom.
This year's event will mark its fourth edition. The money raised annually by the competition goes to societies in Bahrain related to cancer, with the aim of giving disadvantaged youth cancer patients a chance to lead a healthier life. This year, the organisers are allocating part of the tournament revenue to support Think Pink Bahrain.
The children's and youth tournaments will both be played on October 28. Each division will feature four teams.
MemoryThe seniors' competition will be held from October 29 onwards. Twenty teams are taking part, including one from the Naval Support Activity Bahrain of the US Navy.
There had been more than 40 requests to take part in this year's event, including 10 from teams across the Gulf.
The first-ever tournament held in memory of the Late Hisham Fulath was in 2008. It featured 16 teams, with BaBa Team emerging as the seniors' division champions and Al Majid Team finishing as runners-up. Donations that year went to Bahrain Cancer Society.
In 2009, 20 teams took part, with Al Majid taking the title and Bu Ali finishing in second place. Bahrain Cancer Society was once again the beneficiary.
Last year, 20 teams were once again in the fray.
Al Mannai Team took the crown, while Al Majid were yet again on the podium in second place. Donations from the tournament were made to Abdulrahman Kanoo School Gymnasium.
The winners of last year's event came away with tickets for a trip to the UAE, where they got a chance to play against local club Al Wasl.
