Futsal Super Series tournament calling for more entries

SARIKEI: A total of 12 teams have confirmed their participation in the Futsal Super Series at Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation (KPSU) indoor futsal stadium from Oct 29 to 30.

Among the teams which have registered are from Kuching, Bintulu, Mukah and host, Sarikei.

According to the deputy organising chairman, Hamzah Endai, since its inception in 2008 the tournament has attracted former champions from other divisions, such as the Hornet from Kuching and Bankers from Betong.

“The local teams which have emerged as the local Futsal Super Series champions are Den & Sons and AZ United,” he added.

Meanwhile the organiser, Divisional Football Referees Association (Safra) is expecting more teams to register before the dateline on Oct 28 at 2.30pm.

Apart from the challenge trophy, the champion will also receive a team trophy, medals and cash RM1,500 while the first runner-up will take away a trophy, medals and RM800.

Winners in the third and fourth spots will receive medals RM500 and RM200 respectively.

Entry fee is RM200 per team and to be paid before or on the closing date.
