Futsal park under Thomson flyover? SLA considering bid

SLA considering sole bid of $5,888 per month from developer

A vacant plot of land beneath the Thomson flyover could soon be transformed into a bustling futsal park.

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is considering a bid for a 3,804 sq m area beneath the flyover, which it tendered out for a three-year lease last month.

There was only one bid for it, from Mr Derek Cheong, business development director of Le Maison Development, who plans to build a futsal complex called Offside there.

The vacant land under the Thomson flyover is the first such space to be made available for interim use, said an SLA spokesman. The tender closed earlier this month, and it is expected to be awarded in January.
