IRI National Women’s Futsal coach: Iran determined to beat Russia

Tehran, Oct 31

IRNA – Head Coach of Iranian National Futsal Team pointing out that Russia is among world’s top 3 teams, vowed Iran is determined to beat it in upcoming match.

Shahrzad Mozaffar made the comment during her Monday visit of IRNA stand at the 18th International Printed Media and News Agencies Exhibition, adding, “Our national team players would do their best to beat Russia and not suffer another defeat before that team.”
Mozaffar said that the 3rd phase of the National Iranian Women’s Futsal Team’s preparation camp for the game against Russia would be held in Tehran from November 4th to 11th.

She added, “Although the preparation practices of our National Women’s Futsal Team would begin a bit late, but thanks to the high level incentives of our players and the team’s technical coaches, we have high hopes to win the game.”

Mozaffar who used to be a provincial club team coach also referred to some of the financial problems with which the women’s futsal club teams are entangled, such as the allocated budgets and the amounts of the contracts signed with the futsal players, arguing, “I basically think the government sector’s presence in sports field is not appropriate.”

She added, “But if the government is going to enter the sports fields as a financial supporter, it should support the women’s sports alike the men’s sports, since the men’s teams whose games can be broadcasted on TV stations can get financial supporters due to the advertisement money etc., but the women’s teams rely merely on government’s support.”
