Asraf team win Futsal Super Series

SARIKEI: Asraf team won the 2011 Futsal Super Series at the Social Development Ministry complex here over the weekend.

They edged Hornet team 1-0 in the final to lift the challenge trophy for the first time besides taking home the tournament’s trophy, medals and RM1,000.

Kuching-based Hornet which had previously won the title, received a trophy, medals and RM800.

In the third-fourth playoff, MJSB also edged Bernas 1-0 to collect RM500 with RM200 going to the latter.

The two-day tournament, organised by the Futsal Committee of the Divisional Football Referees’ Association, drew 15 teams from the various Divisions, including Bintulu, Mukah and Kuching.

Joselee Ramli, an aide to Tanjung Manis MP, gave away the prizes.
