Perth Youth Futsal

THE Perth Youth Futsal sessions continue tonight (Friday) with the usual start time of 7pm for the PYF Skillz School, followed by the 8pm start for the 14/15 league and the 9pm start for the 16/17 league.

Players and teams are asked to be ready to start on time and note that the sessions will be held in the Main Arena instead of the coaching hall.

Teams are reminded to submit their completed Bonus Ball entry forms at the sessions tonight. The winning Bonus Ball number from the draw on Saturday, October 29 was 45.

As part of a recent link-up, the club will be sending two coaches to London next week to attend a Futsal coaching seminar hosted by Brazilian national Futsal manager Marco Sorato.

The club's Perth Saltires were in action on Monday night when they played in the national league.

A spate of call-offs due to injury resulted in a threadbare team taking to the court and matters were not helped when one of the players aggravated a thigh muscle injury during the warm-up.

Unsurprisingly the team slumped to their first defeat of the season, but still maintain their place at the top of the league and will be hoping to resume normal service this coming Monday when they face FAMCO.

The younger Perth Youth Saltires were also in action that night and a composed performance saw them record another win to keep the team in a comfortable mid-table position.

The result was even more pleasing given that three players made their senior league debuts and gave a good account of themselves.
A senior PYF coach was in Dundee last Saturday to present a Futsal seminar to SFA / DDYFA coaches – the event was well attended and the seminar was well received, so much so that PYF have been invited to present further seminars in the future.

The club are also planning to run another PYF Level 1 training course in the next few weeks – details will be announced in due course.

The club are looking for volunteer coaches for either/both Monday and Friday night sessions so that the club can continue making progress.
Anyone interested in helping should get in touch ASAP.
