AFC Futsal Championship 2012 qualifiers match schedule announced

Kuala Lumpur: AFC has announced the match schedule of the AFC Futsal Championship 2012 Qualifiers.

The qualifiers will take place between November and December this year with 27 teams vying for 12 places to join defending champions Iran, runners-up Uzbekistan, Japan and hosts UAE.

Sixteen teams will battle it out in the tournament proper to be held in UAE from May 12 to 22, 2012.

East Zone qualifiers will be held in Malaysia from November 13 -18 while ASEAN zone qualifiers will be played in Bangkok from November 26 to December 1. Turkmenistan will host the South and Central Zone qualifiers from November 25-27 while West Asia Zone qualifiers will be played in Kuwait from December 9-16.

East Asia
Group A: Korea Republic, Hong Kong, Mongolia
Group B: China PR, Chinese Taipei, Macau

ASEAN
Group A: Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar
Group B: Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia

South & Central (then deleted due to the Maldives withdrawn)
Group A: Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Maldives

West
Group A: Kuwait, Qatar, Palestine, Syria, Saudi Arabia
Group B: Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain, UAE
