Shin hits hat-trick as Koreans cruise

Kuala Lumpur: Shin Jong-hoon struck three times as Korea Republic kicked-off their 2012 AFC Futsal Championship East Zone qualifying campaign with a comfortable 5-1 win over Mongolia on Sunday.

Shin scored just three minutes into the Group A opener at the Cheras Indoor Stadium and grabbed his second and Korea's third five minutes into the second period after Seok Dae-sung had made it 2-0 in the 14th minute.

Tsatsral Jargal reduced the deficit in the 28th minute but the Korea Republic, who finished runners-up to Iran in the inaugural AFC Futsal Championship held in Malaysia in 1999, asserted their superiority with two late goals as Shin completed his hat-trick with two minutes remaining before Hwang Un sealed the win with number five 60 seconds later.
