Campbelltown City Quake have semis in sight

28 Nov 11

by Vera Bertola

AFTER five weeks on the road, Campbelltown City Quake returned to their Minto home court on Saturday and used the advantage to press for points in five of their nine games against Football NSW Futsal Premier League opponents Enfield Rovers.

Quake took 15 club championship points on the day, but know the pressure is on most of their teams to maintain their momentum in the race for semi-final spots.

“We think we’re still in it but we have to back it up on the court,” club secretary Carlos Martinez said of the men’s team.

The Quake men’s side had to call on the lower age groups to make up numbers against Enfield and were defeated 8-4.

“If we’re good enough to make the semis then we have to start showing it. This week (against Mascot) is an absolute must-win match if we’re any hope at all,” Martinez said.
