Futsal is one of the most popular sports practiced by Spanish schoolchildren according to a study by the CSD

Futsal is one of the favorite sports and practiced more by students between the ages of 6 and 18 in our country, as stated on a study on 'Sports habits of the school population in Spain', promoted by the Sports Council (CSD), The Youth Sports Foundation and the Alimentum Foundation.

The report reveals that futsal, after soccer, is the favorite sport by students who perform at least once a week, an organized sports physical activity outside school hours, a group that represents 63% of students enrolled between first and second Baccalaureate Primary.

The study also shows that boys practice more sports (73%) than girls (53%), and 80% of them who do practice sports follow the example of their parents.

The purpose of this report is to obtain an x-ray of the practice of physical exercise in children and adolescents, so that from the same, it can generate benchmarks that contribute to the definition of policies that will promote sport and physical activity performance in this segment of the population.

These data strengthen the report, in 2010, by the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), commissioned by the Sports High Council, to know the sports habits in our country, which states that 9.6% of people (1,907,520 ) between 7 and 64 who play sports in Spain play Futsal.
