KUCHING: Samariang assemblywoman Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali presented a minor rural project (MRP) grant of RM5,000 to DBKU’s futsal teams yesterday.

The DBKU’ Men’s and Women’s teams will be representing Sarawak for the first time ever at the Felda/FAM National Futsal League, which will be held in Shah Alam starting Dec 17.

It is also the first time that Sarawak is represented at the said league.

“We hope the two teams will be able to win something. But most importantly they must keep up the discipline and image,” said Hasidah, before presenting the cheque to the team at her Kampung Malaysia Jaya service centre.

The men’s team manager Zaidi Pathi said both teams would play their very best.

“We will give a good challenge to the more established teams from Peninsular Malaysia. This is not just about raising the name of DBKU but also Sarawak in futsal.”

Also present at the ceremony were Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) principal deputy director Kartina Zamhari, women’s team manager Kamaludin Akil, and women’s team captain Norliza Hassan.
