Campbelltown Macarthur AdvertiserCity Quake play well14 Dec, 2011CAMPBELLTOWN City Quake hosted Sydney City Eagles in round 11 of the NSW Premier League Futsal competition on Saturday and recorded five wins, one draw and three losses.
12 boys: Quake 1 (Cameron Haywood) lost to SCE 6. The Eagles dominated the match and run out convincing winners. Daniel Wilmering played well for the Quake.
12 girls: Quake 4 (Angie Susainathan 3, Rosie Galea) d SCE 1. An outstanding hat-trick by Angie Susainathan was the highlight.
14 boys: Quake 5 (Anthony Haddad 3, Yasser Al-Taay, Liam McGing) d SCE 2. A well-taken hat-trick by Anthony Haddad was just one highlight in this polished display. The Quake now sit alone in second spot on the ladder.
14 girls: Quake 3 (Chrystal Duggan, Ruby Mosca, Ashlee Norman) drew SCE 3. After taking a 2-0 lead, the Quake relaxed and let Sydney City take control. The visitors had the better of the second half as they took a 3-2 lead late in the game but a Quake equaliser prompted the team into action as they searched for a winner.
16 boys: Quake 1 (Shannon Fielding) lost SCE 3. Three errors cost Quake dearly as Sydney City punished them for their mistakes. Losing possession in vital parts of the court has cost them important points this year.
16 girls: Quake 5 (Kiralea Lowther, Elyse Sherry, Lucy Chapman, Mia Conners, OK) d SCE 0. This team notched up their fourth win of the season in convincing fashion. They stay on track for a play-off berth.
Youth Men: Quake 4 (Jake McGing, Harley da Silva, Daniel Nelson, Daniel Vellonio) d SCE 3. After a great start by the Eagles which sent them to a 3- 1 half-time lead it was a great second-half performance by the Quake. With scores locked at 3-3 it was Daniel Vellonio who became an instant hero converting with just seconds on the clock.
Women: Quake 2 (Clare Tyson, Laura Donnelly) lost SCE 4. The more experienced Eagles took a 3-0 lead within 20 minutes. However, the Quake girls improved their performance and actually won the second half, eventually losing the match 4-2.
Men: Quake 7 (Danny Martinez 3, Nathan Clissold 2, Mark Symington, Gary Seymour) d SCE 4. The Quake put in their best performance of the season by defeating competition front-runners in a convincing manner. After conceding an early goal the Quake kept their composure and got back into the match with style. A well taken hat-trick by Danny Martinez and a great free kick by Mark Symington were some of the highlights in a very good win.
