INTRIGUING SUNDAY LIES AHEAD FOR SHEFFIELD’S FUTSAL STARSThis Sunday (February 5) sees Sheffield FC Futsal in home action again on what promises to be a very intriguing day in the FA Futsal League North.
Sheffield currently lie in third place and take on bottom side Liverpool at Concord Sports Centre, kick off 2.30pm, with the aim to gain ground on the top two of leaders Manchester and second placed Middlesbrough.
The South Yorkshire side may be nine points off the summit, but have three games in hand over Manchester, who face the noisy Middlesbrough support on Teeside in a crunch match on Sunday.
Boro are six points clear of third place having played two more games than Sheffield.
Coach Junior Roberti will no doubt warn his Sheffield players against any complacency when facing Liverpool, a side they beat 4-1 in their opening game of the season.
However, their basement club opponents have shipped 41 goals in their last three games, and with goal difference looking like it will play a major factor come the season’s end, they will be going all out to improve that potentially vital statistic.
Sheffield will of course prefer the points in the bag rather than the games in hand too, but they go into this match in high spirits following a 13-2 drubbing of East Coast last month.
Admission is free to all for the match, with updates available on Twitter by following @SheffFCFutsal.
