AFC Elite Futsal Referee Instructor Course.
The three-day AFC Elite Futsal Referee Instructor Course, which features theoretical sessions on issues such as amendments to the laws and how to prepare referees for matches, is being conducted by FIFA and AFC Futsal Referee Instructor
Yasuhiro Matsuzaki from Japan and Belgian
Perry Gautier, a FIFA Futsal Referee Instructor who was an international futsal referee for over a decade.
Futsal features prominently in 2012 and in his opening address to the participants AFC Deputy General Secretary Hasan Al Sabah spoke of the importance that Asian futsal referees strive towards making the same impact that their counterparts in the 11-a-side game have been making in the global arena.
"There are two very important AFC futsal tournaments this year (the AFC Futsal Championship in May and the AFC Futsal Club Championship in July) and there is the World Cup in Thailand and the world will be watching Asia," said Al Sabah
"Day-by-day we are improving and we continue to show that the 'future is Asia'.
"Asia continues to show improvements. More and more our referees are officiating at the highest level and we hope that, under your direction and leadership, our futsal referees will follow."
