by Elmir Aliyev from Zagreb

Sat 04 February 2012

As is known, last night the national futsal team of Azerbaijan has held its second match at the group stage of the European championship in Croatia.

Our match lost to Serbia-8:9 in the decisive match for the quarterfinal. One of the key moments in the match has become sending off the main goalkeeper of the national team of Azerbaijan Andrei Tverjankin in the eighth minute. Our goalkeeper got the second yellow card for the violation he did not make. This is seen in the video repetition of this episode posted below. Andrei did not clash with Serbian footballer Vladimir Milosavats and would even not touch him if the latter did not make the plunge.

However, Polish referee Sebastian Stavitski thought differently and showed the yellow card to our goalkeeper which became second in the match and caused sending off. Reserve goalkeeper Marat Salyanski who stepped to the court falls behind Tverjankin in skills despite all efforts and as a result Azerbaijan missed nine goals.
