Networking vital for Futsal development

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Elite Futsal Directors’ Workshop commenced on Monday with the focus on developing a futsal network amongst the member associations across Asia.

While revealing the objectives of the workshop, AFC Futsal Director Ali Targholizade requested the participants view the seminar as an opportunity to develop futsal networking.

He said: “Asia is a big continent with countries having different on and off-field futsal activities and success. So we have divided Asian countries into three categories in terms of the level of futsal but the goal is to develop the game across the continent. We are expecting a futsal network being developed amongst these countries and a big and strong futsal family to emerge.

“We have also guest speakers coming in from FIFA, and the football associations of Spain and Italy to share their experiences at the top level. With such top and committed partners on board, we will review the current AFC futsal activities and also discuss about developing the AFC Futsal Club Championship in the seminar.”

A total of 19 participants from 17 futsal-playing countries are attending the workshop
