07/06/2003 A wonderful player leaves futsal
Futsal lose one of its best player of all time: Javi Sanchez(Javier Sanchez Franco). The pivot of Playas de Castellon announced his withdrawal after the semifinal against Interviu Boomerang, that caused the end of Playas de Castellon championship. Javi Sanchez, 32 years, spent twelve unforgettable season in Division de Honor, winning all with Playas de Castellon and with the red shirt of spanish national team. Two Lnfs title (1999/2000 and 2000/2001), one "Champions League" (Castellon, 2001, and a second place in Rome, 96, with Pinturas Lepanto Saragozza against Bnl Roma)and two Uefa Futsal Cup (Lisbon 2002, Castellon 2003), two European Championships (the unofficial one in Cordoba 96 and Moscow 2001, scoring the golden goal of the title), a World Championship (Guatemala 2000, with a wonderful goal in the final against Brazil) and other prestigious tournament like the Tiger 5 in singapore. One hundred matches played with Spanish national team. Is it enough to describe this player? Javi Sanchez will, anyway, keep on working in the staff of Playas De Castellon. As correctly said Javier Lozano, coach of Spanish national team, Javi Sanchez always played for the team and not for himself. This is one of the reason why he's a legend of futsal. Good luck Javi!
