Futsal rain, hail or shine

WITH sporting fields at a premium in Marrickville, Fraser Park Football Club will develop three all-weather synthetic pitches.

The Marrickville club has formed a partnership with Kikoff Soccer Centres to build three FIFA-accredited futsal pitches.

Club vice-president Daniel Afonso said Fraser Park FC would make the pitches available to the public when completed in April.

“Marrickville Council has limited resources for playing fields, but there is so much demand,” Mr Afonso said.

“We wanted to work with the broader community to provide a decent facility. Once it’s finished we will be offering it back to the community.”

The pitches will also allow Fraser Park FC, which has more than 500 registered players, to use the facility all year round.

In another attempt to grow the club, Fraser Park is also offering free registration for under-6 and under-7 players for the upcoming season. They started this last year and aim for 100 players in 2012.

PERFECT PITCH
-There will be three futsal synthetic pitches at Fraser Park, Marrickville Rd.
-There is room for three netball courts in the future.
