The AFC.comAustralia 15-0 CambodiaTuesday, 21 February 2012Bangkok: Australia made an emphatic start in their quest to claim a berth at the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship with 15-0 hammering of Cambodia as Group B of the ASEAN Zone qualifiers got underway on Tuesday.
Shervin Keshvaraz began the rout at the Krungthep Thonburi Indoor Stadium when he opened the scoring in the third minute before going on to add four more goals to his personal tally with strikes in the 28th, 36th, 39th and 40th minutes.
Danny Ngaluafe weighed in with a hat-trick (27th, 30th and 38th) and doubles were scored by Jarrod Basger (6th and 23rd) and Greg Giovenali (17th and 23rd) while three other Futsalroos got their names on the scoresheet with Chris Zeballos (19th), Andres Gomez (24th) and George Cattanach (39th) all finding the target.
Australia face Malaysia while Cambodia will look to bounce back against Vietnam in Wednesday's Group B fixtures with the top two playing crossover semi-finals against the first and second place teams in Group A, which features hosts Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.
The two finalists and the winner of the third-place playoff will advance to the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship finals which will be held in the UAE in May.

The AFC.comVietnam 4-0 MalaysiaTuesday, 21 February 2012Bangkok: Vietnam scored four times in the last eight minutes to get their 2012 AFC Futsal Championship, ASEAN Zone Group B qualification campaign off to a winning start on Tuesday.
Neither side could get on the score sheet at the Krungthep Thonburi Indoor Stadium until the 32nd minute when Liu Quynh Toan broke the deadlock before Malaysia conceded two penalties in a two minute spell, with Nguyen Trong Thien scoring in the 36th and 38th minutes.
Goalkeeper Dang Pjuoc Anh sealed the 4-0 win with one minute of the match left to play.
Vietnam coach Sergio Gargelli had earlier stated that the match against Malaysia could be 'decisive', and with three points already in the bag the Italian will be looking to make it two out of two when his side faces Cambodia, while Malaysia have a tough task against free-scoring Australia, who defeated the Cambodians 15-0 in the earlier match, when Group B action resumes on Wednesday.
The top two sides after the group phase will play crossover semi-finals against the first and second place teams in Group A, which features hosts Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

The AFC.comIndonesia 12-0 PhilippinesTuesday, 21 February 2012Bangkok: Bambang Bayu Saptaji scored a three-minute hat-trick as Indonesia stormed to a 12-0 victory over the Philippines in their 2012 AFC Futsal Championship, ASEAN Zone Group A curtain-raiser on Tuesday.
Having already opened his account in the 28th minute, the 19-year-old scored three more times (37th, 39th and 40th) to emerge from the one-sided contest at the Krungthep Thonburi Indoor Stadium as Indonesia's leading scorer with one more than Julinur Hafid, who also bagged a treble with strikes in the 12th, 24th and 34th minutes.
Caisar Oktavianus Silitonga (6th), Randhyas (10th), Gustian Sukima Wardhana (17th), skipper Denny Handoyo (26th) and Afif Tamimy (31st) were also on the score sheet.
Indonesia will be looking to build on their opening day win on Wednesday when they face Myanmar in their second of three Group A matches.
The two teams in each group advance to the semi-finals with the two finalists and the winner of the third-place playoff advancing to the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship finals which will be held in the UAE in May.

The AFC.comThailand 13-0 MyanmarTuesday, 21 February 2012Bangkok: AFC Futsal Championship 2012, ASEAN Zone qualifying hosts Thailand went to the top of Group A after the first round of matches on Tuesday when they hammered Myanmar 13-0.
Suphawat Thueanklang accounted for four of the goals the home side scored at the Krungthep Thonburi Indoor Stadium with the 23-year-old, who was on target in every game he played in at the 2010 AFC Futsal Championship, finding the net in the 9th, 25th, 30th and 36th minutes.
Skipper Kritsada Wongkaeo, a GH Bank team-mate of Suphawat's at the 2011 AFC Futsal Club Championship, netted a hat-trick (9th,17th and 26th) while two goals were scored by Keattiyot Chalaemkhet (3rd and 29th), Nattavut Madyalan (8th and 33rd) and Jirawat Sornwichian (17th and 37th) as the Thais went one better than Indonesia, who hammered the Philippines 12-0 in Tuesday's earlier Group A fixture.
The crest-fallen Philippines are next up for Thailand when the second of three group phase matches take place on Wednesday.
