VN reach Asian futsal semi-finals

Viet Nam have reached the semi-finals of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship qualification tournament that is taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The semi-final berth follows two convincing victories that have given them six points, thrashing Malaysia 4-0 in the opener and demolishing Cambodia 7-1 in the second Group B game.

Viet Nam needs a top three finish to achieve the most important goal of qualifying for the AFC Futsal championships to be held in the United Arab Emirates this May.

Viet Nam qualified for the 2010 edition of the championship, but could not progress beyond the group stage.
