Bangkok: Indonesia will join Thailand at the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship following a 2-1 extra-time win overVietnam on Saturday’s semi-final of the ASEAN Zone qualifiers.

Qualifying hosts Thailand had earlier booked their place in the tournament proper, which will be held in the UAE in May after demolishing Australia 7-0, but the second ASEAN Zone semi-final played at Krungthep Thonburi Indoor Stadium was an altogether tighter affair with the regulation 40 minutes ending all square in the match that would also determine who would meet the Thais in Sunday's final and who would take on Australia to become ASEAN's third representatives in the UAE

Afif Tamimy maintained his record of scoring in every match of the tournament when he fired Indonesia to a 1-0 lead with one minute of the first period of extra-time and and while Vietnam pegged one back two minutes after the interval through Luu Quynh Toan, Caisar Oktavianus Silitonga also scored in the 47th minute as Indonesia held their nerves in final three minutes of the match to advance into the final.
