Vietnam Net BridgeVietnam’s futsal team misses Asian champsVietNamNet Bridge – The national futsal squad of Vietnam was defeated by Australia on February 26, to rank fourth in the qualifier round of the Asian Futsal Championships 2012.
This was the second game between Vietnam and Australia. Earlier, the two got a draw.
Before the game, the Vietnamese team hoped to win a ticket to the final round. The team trounced Malaysia 4-0, Cambodia 7-1 and got a 2-2 draw against Australia to rank first in Group B.
In the semi-final match vs. Indonesia, Vietnam was the loser, 1-2. It competed for the third position with Australia, which was trounced 0-7 in the semi-final against Thailand.
Australia played very well, scoring four goals in the first 35 minutes. Vietnam tried its best to have three goals.
In the final game, Thailand defeated Indonesia 5-2 (

After this tournament, the Vietnamese futsal team will prepare for the Southeast Asian Championships from April 17 to 24 in Thailand.
