Judith Kerr27 Feb, 2012Redlands United Football Club's under 10 futsal team, known as the Dingoes, has won the Brisbane region's junior grand championship for 2012.
The winning team of six played in the Brisbane Magic Futsal competition, a Football Federation Association-approved competition at the Colmslie State Hockey Centre.
The under 10 team was undefeated even though two players, Jackson Clive and Katie Godden, were only eight years old.
Other Dingoes had never played futsal before the competition started.
However, the team quickly became a force to be reckoned with under Redlands United coach Richard Godden.
After the Saturday competition at Colmslie, the team was also invited to represent Brisbane and play in the Johnny Warren Cup.
Connor Woods, Harley Brown, Jason Godden and Katie Godden then competed in trials to represent Brisbane Magic in the Craig Foster Cup.
The Dingoes team were proclaimed Brisbane Junior Futsal Grand Champions 2012 at a ceremony on Saturday, February 11.
The team was Connor Woods (Cleveland) 10, Harley Brown (Cleveland) 10, Jason Godden (Ormiston) 10, Jackson Clive (Redland Bay) 8,Coran McNamara (Victoria Point) 10, and Katie Godden (Ormiston) 8.
