AFC Futsal Championship rescheduled

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Futsal Championship 2012 has been rescheduled and will now take place from May 25 to June 1.

The AFC Futsal Committee pushed the dates forward from the original May 18 to May 25 schedule taking into consideration a number of comments as well as the number of futsal league competitions that are still taking place across Asia.

Sixteen teams will participate in the AFC Futsal Championship namely: hosts UAE, defending champions Iran, Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea Republic, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Qatar, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The draw for the tournament will take place on March 11, having previously been slated for the previous day.
