Sporting's Brazilian futsal star has agreed a new two-year deal with the Alvalade club.

After penning his new contract, Marcelinho sat down with the Sporting Journal to reflect on the deal.

SPORTING JOURNAL - How do you feel, having signed a new two-year deal?
MARCELINHO - I feel really proud to carry on serving Sporting. I was really happy when the club talked to me about the contract and it shows to me that I have been doing what is asked of me.


What does it mean for you to play for Sporting?
It is one of the best things in my life. Every player who is playing aboard dreams of a move to a club as big as this. Sporting is a massive club and we have everything we need to work here and to grow as players. I am really happy here.


What are your objectives for the coming two seasons?
I have been with Sporting since 2010 and the chance to stay here for even longer makes me really happy. I came here wanting to win every single game and that is what Sporting wants too. It is a real privilege for me to be with a winning club.


What can we expect from you in the coming seasons?
I will always be a player that tries to win the best competitions. Because of that, I will always give my all to help the team.


What do you make of Sporting's chances in the coming competitions?
We are fighting for the national title and for the UEFA Cup. Obviously we want to win those competitions, no matter what it takes, and Sporting has what it takes to do that.
