Ultra win sees futsal league finish on a high

PHUKET: The Adult Futsal League season drew to a close last Thursday night (March22), as Division One took centre stage following the cancellation of the Premier League matches.

Friday 30 March 2012

The first match of the evening saw a battle for the runners-up position, with Chevrolet needing just a draw against Ultraman.

With Ultraman requiring a win to snatch second place, they pressed from the opening whistle and scored on their first attack, only to see their lead wiped out by a Chevrolet goal just a minute later.

However this seemed to galvanise Ultraman, who went on to score three more unanswered goals before halftime to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

They extended their lead by two more goals in the second half, and while Chevrolet managed a second goal, it was too late as Ultraman claimed a 6-2 victory and the Division One runners up position.

The final Division One match saw SGS and Island Boys both looking to finish the season with a win – and the Boys did just that, securing their first and only win of the season thanks to a resounding 6-2 victory.

There was also a ‘Champions vs Champions’ challenge match on the small pitch as Premier Division winners Portrait FC took on Division One Winners TSLC.

It was a lively display from TSLC, but Portrait were just a little too strong on the night and the Premier Division champs claimed a 6-4 victory over their Division One counterparts.
