Middlesbrough Futsal Club press release (April 3rd)

Middlesbrough Futsal Club
Boro host East Coast on Easter Sunday

Middlesbrough Futsal Club round off their regular league season on Easter Sunday when they host struggling East Coast at Thornaby Pavilion with a win needed to secure their passage to the National Playoffs in May.

Boro salvaged a valuable point last time out against Sheffield, despite trailing 5-1 with just four minutes remaining, keeping their playoff hopes alive, but still need to finish the job with three points on Sunday in the afternoon kick off.

Manager Damon Shaw is hoping for a bumper crowd to send Boro into the playoffs on a high.

“We’ve had amazing support all season and it would be great if the fans can come out one last time to send us over the finish line and into the playoffs, with the backing of a whole region.

“It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable season with lots of excitement and we aim to put on a show on Sunday to thank the fans who have got us to where we are now. It would be great to see the Boro fans turning up to support us, as we could potentially bring a national title back to Teesside in May, which could be part of a great double if Boro get promoted too.”

East Coast have struggled again this season but will be up for the challenge against a side they have never beaten as they look to avoid the drop and Shaw said he has a lot of respect for Brennan, the East Coast manager. “Steve has done a lot of great work for East Coast and will one day reap the rewards, hopefully not on Sunday!”

The gate money will be a vital aid for the club as well, helping them to afford the trip to London for the playoffs – a win there will see Boro enter the UEFA Futsal Cup. There will also be a signed Middlesbrough FC strip up for grabs in a raffle and limited edition Boro Futsal replica strips will be on sale for a special price of £30 for one day only! All money raised will help the club towards their assault on the title.

Tickets will be available on the day for £3 adults, £1 children and £5 for a family. Doors open at 12:30pm and kick off is at 1:30pm. So come on down and support the Boro this Easter Sunday! Parking is free in Thornaby Town Centre.
