Junior futsal tournament

Middlesbrough Futsal Club are hosting the first of their annual regional Junior Futsal Championships on 14th April and are looking for teams to play at under-10s, 12s, 14s and 16s. With very limited places in each age range, don't delay in getting your entries in!

Each age group will play a round robin format, playing a minimum of three matches, followed by a final. There will be up to 8 teams in each age category depending on level of interest.

Middlesbrough Futsal Club will be using the event to scout players for their own academy which is starting in April and will go on to enter regional and national tournaments against other teams from all over the UK and even abroad. Futsal is a great tool for young players to improve their football, but it's also a great sport in its own right with the opportunities to play for Middlesbrough and England, and even professionally growing all the time.

There will also be opportunities for the winning teams to play against a touring Australian Vikings team on 17th April and in upcoming tournaments and leagues.

The 2012 Championships will be held over two venues on the same day. One will take place in Catterick at Catterick Leisure Centre and the other in Stockton at Durham University's Queen's Campus. Entry is just £30 per team and squads can be a maximum of 10 players.

To enter, each team should return the entry form below by Thursday 5th April to corey@borofutsal.co.uk. School teams, football clubs or just groups of friends are eligible to enter. You can specify whether you would prefer to play in the Stockton heat or the Catterick heat, but you may be moved in the event of one being oversubscribed.

Category - Qualification - School Years
Under 10 - Born after 31st August 2001 but before 1st September 2003 - 5
Under 12 - Born after 31st August 1999 but before 1st September 2001 - 6 & 7
Under 14 - Born after 31st August 1997 but before 1st September 1999 - 8 & 9
Under 16 - Born after 31st August 1995 but before 1st September 1997 - 10 & 11
