Spartak Moscow wins Futsal Cup

Spartak Moscow has won Intercontinental Futsal Cup in Moscow.

Spartak, the holder of the European Cup, fought for the trophy against Argentina’s El Santo don Orione, the winner of the South America Cup, defeating the Argentines in the first two matches of the series and drawing a tie in the final game.

Futsal was born in Latin America, and the first matches took place in Uruguay in 1930.

It has been an independent sport in Russia since 1991.
