Futsal fundraiser

11 Apr, 2012

An introduction to 5 pin target bowls along with other fundraising activities was held at North Haven Bowling Club on Sunday April 1 in aid of local boy Lachlan Moffat to help him on his tour of the United Kingdom following his selection in the Australian Under 16 Futsal team.

Overall $1600 was raised to help Lachlan on his way including $1200 raised on the day.

A big thank-you is extended to all the kind sponsors who assisted with some big raffle prizes on the day - North Haven Bowling Club, Wiggly Tail Butchery, Kumbak Bakery, Greenmaster Bowls, Laurieton Family Jewelers, The Hanlon Family and Drummond Golf.

Another highlight was an impromptu game of futsal including many players from the local Redbacks Football club on the bowling club green. The fast paced action was enjoyed by spectators particpating in the bowls day.
