Entries called for futsal competition

PRAI: Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) Penang Division will organise its 3rd MTUC-Penang Workers Day Futsal competition at the MegaMall Pinang Futsal Complex here on May 20.

MTUC state chairman S. Ravindran said the event is limited to 32 teams on a first-come-first-served basis to avoid disruption to a smooth competition.

The total cash prize money offered is RM1,200 while the entry fee is RM140 per team.

Ravindran said this year, the Division committee has planned more sporting programmes for the annual Workers Day celebration, including a ten-pin bowling championship, sepak takraw tournament and others.

He said the celebration will kick off with the Memorial Day on April 28 at the memorial tomb opposite the Penang Bridge toll plaza which will be followed by the May First Workers Solidarity Dinner at the Chai Leng Park Multipurpose Hall on May 1.
