Malaysia crash to Vietnam

MALAYSIA suffered their first defeat in the AFF Futsal Championships, losing 7-2 to Vietnam in a Group A match in Bangkok yesterday.

Malaysia, however, have qualified for the semi-finals as group runners-up to Vietnam.

Nguyen Hoang Giang and Pham Thanh Dat scored a brace each for Vietnam while Nguyen Bao Quan, Luu Quynh Toan and Nguyen Trong Thien were also on target.

Malaysia replied through Ahamd Fawzul Hadzir, who was sent off in the second half, and Muhd Shamsul Akmar.

They will face either defending champions Thailand or Indonesia in the semi-finals tomorrow.
