SuperSportOyekale prepares for Gabonby
Humphrey Njoku02 May 2012Nigeria's Futsal coach, Oladunni Oyekale will on Thursday name a 12-man list that will face Gabon in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
The encounter will take place inside the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute for Sports, National Stadium in Lagos.
Thirteen African teams are taking part in the African qualifiers for the Fifa Futsal World Cup finals, with three of them proceeding to the finals in Thailand in November.
Victory in the two-legged tie against Gabon will make Nigeria eligible for the final round of qualifiers against the winner of the fixture between Tunisia and Egypt.
Nigeria were drawn bye into this stage but Gabon qualified following the withdrawal of Guinea.
Oyekale told SuperSport.com that discipline is key to success as the team gets set to face Gabon.
"Futsal football has to do with not only skills but full concentration, energy and stamina. It feeds on endurance levels.
"I've seen the players I believe will do Nigeria proud against Gabon on Sunday," he said.
The former Nigerian player has been working with 26 players in Lagos selected from four clubs, Sholly Babes, Mac Jeff, and Enugu clubs, Inter and Pensioners.
