Three matches took place at the Khalifa Sports City's Gym in Isa Town where KCB sent a strong warning to other contestants with a resounding 16-5 victory over Information East Riffa Club in Group 'B'.
Brazilian striker Leandson Da Silva, the former Muharraq Club and present Saudi Arabia's Al Fateh player, stole the limelight scoring 10 goals. Mohammed Ashoor, Rashid Ebrahim and Faisal Mahmood were the other players on target for the victors.
East Riffa goals included a brace from Nehad and one each by Mohammed Ishaq, Mohammed Abdulqader, Mohammed Hassan and Yousef Ahmed.
Majestic Cars team followed suit, defeating Information Affairs Authority (IAA) 13-3 in another one-sided Group 'A' encounter.
BraceKhalifa Yaqoub and Waleed Al Omari fired four goals each, Abdulla Hussain and Mohammed Isa scored a brace each, besides one from Abdulla Al Dossary. IAA goals came from Abdulla Attiya (2) and Nawaf Sultan.
In the last match of the day, Benefit scored an upset 4-1 win over strong contenders Manama, also in Group 'A'.
Rashid Al Rawaie, Hazem Mohammed, Raed Rashid and Abdulaziz Khamis scored for the winners, while Manama's only goal came from Mahdi Hassan.
The league is being organised by the Bahrain Football Association and is sponsored by marketing company Sport K and Arab sports website www.Kooora.com.
A total of 20 teams representing clubs, companies, banks and ministries are taking part in the first-ever futsal league in Bahrain.
The teams are drawn into four groups of five, with each group winners and runners-up reaching the quarter-finals.
Group 'A' features teams from the Information Authority Affairs, Majestic Cars, Manama Club, Benefit and Diyar Al Muharraq, while Khaleeji Commercial Bank, East Riffa Club, Al Ahli Club, Bahrain Specialist Hospital and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait are in Group 'B'.
In Group 'C', Busaiteen Club, Al Shabab Club, Interior Ministry, Samsung and Al Malkiya Club are battling it out, while Group 'D' consists of Bahrain Defence Force team, Al Hala Club, Um Al Hassam Club, General Organisation for Social Insurance and Nomas Projects.
