Gulf Daily NewsRico leads KCB to crushing winTuesday, May 15, 2012KHALEEJI Commercial Bank (KCB) extended their winning run in the First Bahrain Futsal League, beating Bahrain Specialist Hospital 10-1 in Group 'B'. Brazilian striker Leandson Da Silva, nicknamed 'Rico', fired seven goals for the victors to take his tally to the top of the scoring chart with 17 goals after just two matches.
Mohammed Ashoor, Ahmed Hazza and Faisal Flamirzi were also on target for KCB, while Abdulwahab Ali scored the only goal for the Bahrain Specialist Hospital.
Two more matches took place at Khalifa Sports City's Gym in Isa Town on the second week of the competition where Al Ahli picked up their second successive win, beating Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) 7-4 in the same group.
Al Ahli's goals came from Mustafa Yaqoub and Saleh Majeed firing a brace each, while Isa Bahram, Bahsar Abdulsamad and Hassan Mohammed scored one goal each.
BBK, who played their first game in the tournament, were led by Bahrain national futsal team striker Hussain Kazerooni, who hit twice, with Ihsan Al Saati and Mohammed Al Satrawi also being on target.
Diyar Al Muharraq followed suit, beating Manama 6-2 in Group 'A' to begin their campaign on a high note.
National team captain Ali Abdulrasool inspired Diyar Al Muharraq with a double strike, while Masaud Saeed, Mohammed Reda, Sayed Mohammed Sultan and Hussam Al Saleh bagged one each.
Earlier, Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Um Al Hassam and Benefit all registered victories. The BDF and Um Al Hassam teams kick-started their campaigns in Group 'D' with wins over Al Hala (14-2) and General Organisation for Social Insurance (Gosi) (6-5).
In Group 'A', Benefit captured their second straight victory beating Information Affairs Authority (IAA) 9-4 to top the group with six points from two matches.
BDF dominated their match against Al Hala right from the start for a resounding victory. Leading 9-0 at half-time, BDF goals were scored by Ateeq Saad (3), Abdulrahim Belal, Ahmed Ghalib, Ali Saleh, Hamza Khalid, Tareq Ahmed (2 each) and Hisham Nasser.
Khalid Zuayyed and Jalil Burshaid were on target for Al Hala, who also played their first game in the tournament.
In the same group, Um Al Hassam recovered from a 0-2 deficit to beat Gosi for a flying start. Ali Al Shamlan fired a brace for the winners, while Mohammed Mousa, Mohammed Ali, Fahad Sultan and Abdulla Mohammed scored one goal each.
The last game of the day saw Benefit extend their winning form with another easy win over IAA team, who were dealt their second straight defeat.
