Gulf Daily NewsNomas begin Futsal League campaign in styleTuesday, May 22, 2012NOMAS kick-started their campaign in the First Bahrain Futsal League in style, beating Um Al Hassam 8-3 In Group 'D' at Khalifa Sports City's Gym in Isa Town.
In the second week of the competition, Nomas stamped authority and scored through Abbas Abdulamir and Ahmed Yousef (two each), while Ammar Al Thawadi, Mohammed Kassab, Fares Al Hussaini and Sayed Ahmed Mohammed hit one goal each. Mohammed Yousef, Mohammed Mousa and Ahmed Saad scored for Um Al Hassam, who were handed their first defeat.
In the same group, Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) registered a 5-3 win over the General Organisation for Social Insurance (Gosi). It was the second win for the BDF team, who now top the group with six points. Ali Saleh and Fuad Bushager (2 each) and Ateeq Saad were on target for BDF, while Mohammed Abdulnabi (2) and Ebrahim Al Jowder scored for Gosi, who suffered their second consecutive defeat.
Diyar Al Muharraq followed suit, defeating Benefit 6-1 for their second successive victory. Jassim Saleh amd Mohammed Radhi gave Diyar Al Muharraq a 2-0 first-half lead, and then Ali Abdulrasool and Mohammed Al Sindi doubled their team's advantage scoring one goal apiece.
Benefit reduced the deficit through Raed Rashid, but Diyar Al Muharraq added two more goals through Sayed Sultan and Ali Abdulrasool.
OutplayedMajestic Cars topped Group 'A' with six points after a 5-2 win over Manama. Yousef Al Mehaiza, Abdulla Attiya, Salah Saleh, Mohammed Abdullatif and Abdulla Al Ali were on target for the winners, while Mahmood Al Ansari and Mahdi Rafii scored for Manama, who lost their second straight game.
In Group 'C', Sitra outplayed Samsung 6-2 for their second successive win. Taking a 3-1 lead at the break, Sitra took control of their game, thanks to Ahmed Antar who fired four times. Hussain Hubail and Yasser Al Mallah were also on target for the victors. Samsung, who were dealt their second straight defeat, are yet to gather their maiden points. Their goals were scored by Mohammed Mahmood and Jassim Khalid.
The Interior Ministry team followed suit, edging out Al Malkiya 3-2 for their first win in the same group. Goals from Jaffer Darwish and Mahmood Naji gave Al Malkiya a 2-0 lead at half-time. However, Interior Ministry roared back in the second-half, scoring three times through Khalid Ghazi (2 goals) and Mustafa Abdullatif, who missed a penalty kick earlier in the game. Interior Ministry now have four points, while it was the first game for Al Malkiya.
League action continues on Saturday when Nomas Projects begin their campaign against Um Al Hassam in Group 'D' at 4.45pm. It will be followed by Benefit vs Diyar Al Muharraq Group 'A' tie at 6.30pm, while Manama face Mastic Cars at 8.15pm, also in Group 'A'.
