The StarMaxis users can have a ball at Star’s futsal tourneyMonday June 4, 2012KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis customers have a unique opportunity to join The Star eurofutsal Championship that kicks off on Friday.
Active Maxis and Hotlink customers can form teams and take part in the mini tournaments, held in conjunction with the upcoming Euro 2012 Championships.
Eight of the 32 teams at the two mini-championships in Padang, on the rooftop of 1Utama in Petaling Jaya over two weekends of June 9 and 23, will be made up of just Maxis Berhad customers.
Interested Maxis users can register their teams’ details at www.maxis.com.my/eurofutsal2012.
Closing date for the registration is June 11. Qualifying teams will be notified via email.
All Maxis users are entitled to lucky draw prizes at the competition venue.
All they need to do is flash their Maxis mobile at the reception to receive a slip for the draw.
The event, part of the Maxis Rewards programme, is aimed at rewarding and building affinity with users, particularly young adult subscribers.
The other sponsors for the mini-tournaments, fashioned after the Euro 2012 Championship, are Astro and Carlsberg.
The futsal competition will see each of the 16 teams represent a country that is participating in the Euro 2012 Championships.
Together with medals, cash prizes are the up-for-grabs as follows: RM1,000 (champion), RM750 (1st runner-up) and RM500 (2nd runner-up).
At half-time (on the first weekend), a special draw will give fans a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Donetsk in Ukraine to catch the Euro 2012 semi-finals, courtesy of Carlsberg.
There will also be lucky draws on the June 23 weekend too.
Entry fee per team of eight players is RM120.
Each team will receive team bibs, goodie bags and also be entitled for the special draw.
