Gcinile ShongweSOCCER - FUTSAL fanatics will be treated to entertaining football when St Mark’s High lock horns with Mbabane Central in the league games scheduled for tomorrow.
FUTSAL is a five-aside indoor soccer game whose origin can be traced to Spain and Portugal. The Coronation Park in Mbabane will host all the teams in group A starting at 1pm while the other teams will sweat it out at Zakhele courts at the same time. National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Technical Director (TD) Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta pointed out that the league was meant to develop the sport in the country. “Our intention is to make the nation aware about the sport as well as develop it amongst local players. Only 12 teams are participating in the league but we are hoping that the numbers will increase in the next league,” he said.
