North West Evening MailRooke’s on targetFriday, 15 June 2012ULVERSTON futsal ace Will Rooke took his international goal tally to six in a win over Denmark.
The 21-year-old won his 12th and 13th England caps when the Three Lions played a friendly double-header against the Danes over two days at SportHouse in East London.
England lost the first game 5-1 but bounced back strongly the following day to win the second encounter 3-0, with GSK Ulverston Rangers ace Rooke opening the scoring.
Student Rooke (below), completes a masters in sports biomechanics at Loughborough University, this summer and has been a regular for England since his debut last year.
He has a place at Leicester University for next year, where he will study a maths PGCE to prepare him to teach at senior level.
This also enables Rooke to stay in the Leicestershire area and continue to play futsal and football for Loughborough and, hopefully, England.
Futsal is a variant of football that is played on a smaller pitch and mainly indoors. It is also played with a smaller ball that has less bounce than a regular football.
