Luca Ranocchiari - Futsalplanet.com editorNo surprises at all, the final path was already determined and known since several weeks. But now everything is "open and public":
Jesús Velasco Tejada is the new coach of
Inter Movistar for the incoming 12/13 season as well as two seasons more as stated in the "maquina verde" club's press release. It sounds like a deserved achievement for the madrilenian coach who had to export his knowledge out of Spain in order to be finally recognized in the spanish elite as well. The historical title in Turin and the triumphs with Prato and Luparense (for a total amount of 6 league titles, 5 Supercups and 4 Cups in 10 seasons) seemed not to be enough (also due to the unlucky experience in Pamplona), but the Caja Segovia's final "great job" meant the definitive proof of the
Velasco's skills, opening the doors for a top club (though the truth is that Caja Segovia is a legendary and top club as well with a limited budget in their pockets).
When a coach take a team under his guide there's usually a good time available to work and prepare the next season, but that won't be the case of Velasco and Inter Movistar, ready to take part in the
Intercontinental Cup (a task that the former coach
Daniel Ibanes had to face in the initial idea, something he could not achieve due a car crash suffered by his parents and sister in Brazil which forced him to immediately move to Sao Paulo, let's wish to the legendary Daniel all the best for him and his family)
Chicho is backJesus Velasco will work with a well known name of spanish and international futsal:
Enrique Ibáñez "Chicho" who will be the assistant coach and physical trainer of the maquina verde. He's back from the recent triumph of the
Japanese National team in the AFC Futsal Champs with Miguel Rodrigo and features previous experiences in Italy and Russia.
