Box ScoreMISL, PASL dominate US futsal rosterJune 20, 2012CHICAGO - Machel Millwood, who helped lead the Baltimore Blast into the finals of the Major Indoor Soccer League in March, topped the U.S. roster announced Wednesday for the CONCACAF Futsal Championship.
Keith Tozer, who also is the coach of the MISL's Milwaukee Wave and has been U.S. national team manager since 1996, released his 14-player roster for the July 2-8 confederation finals in Guatemala City.
The roster also includes Danny Waltman of the Missouri Comets, who led all goalies in minutes played in the MISL this season (1,366), midfielder Matthew Stewart of the MISL-champion Wave and two of his teammates from the 2004 CONCACAF champion American side: Ptah Myers and Sandre Naumoski.
Seventeen-year-old Lucas Stauffer is the youngest player on the roster while the other 13 members play or have played in the MISL and the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL).
The two-time CONCACAF champion Americans will play host Guatemala, Panama and either Canada or El Salvador in the first round. Canada and El Salvador will face each other in a two-match playoff June 28 and June 29 in Guatemala City to decide the eighth and final berth in the CONCACAF finals.
