More than 1,200 teams had entered the national competition and St Andrews played teams from all regions on the way to the final, beating the former champions Shenfield, from Essex, in the process.
St Andrews, led by Shaun Hickey and Andy Ward, then put in a superb, powerful attacking performance to demolish Franks Tanks, from Torquay, 9-1 in the final.
