Costa Rica open three-game tour with 2:1 victory over Uruguay

Costa Ricas Futsal team opened a three-game tour of Uruguay on Tuesday evening (29 July) with a 2:1 victory over the host at the Gimnasio Municipal in the city of Canelones.

In their first-ever futsal meeting, the ticos opened the scoring in the 14th minute of the first half with a goal by Michael Barrantes.

After Uruguay equalized seven minutes later, Yann Montoya notched the game-winner at the 22nd minute-mark of the second half for the 2:1 final.

Costa Rica, whos in preparation for next year's CONCACAF Futsal Championship in Guatemala, continue their road trip in the city of Mercedes de Soriano (in Northern Uruguay) on Friday (1 August), where they will meet the Interior Province Champion (Mercedes de Soriano) before they conclude the tour with another match-up against Uruguay.
