English side downed at home AS Odorheiu Secuiesc have taken a giant step towards the first qualifying round of the UEFA Futsal Cup after a 7-1 victory at Tranmere Victoria FC.
European debut The Romanian side found their feet in the second half at Liverpool’s Greenbank Sports Academy, with all the goals coming in the final 12 minutes of this preliminary round first-leg match. It was the first time either club had taken part in European club competition, with the UEFA Futsal Cup now in its third edition.
Tight opening With both teams knowing little about the opposition, the first half had been a cagey affair and neither side could find the breakthrough. However, it was a different story after the interval with Odorheiu Secuiesc running away with the contest.
Nearly through The teams will meet again in Romania next Sunday, with the home team the overwhelming favourites to progress. The winner of the tie will enter Group 2 in the first qualifying round along with MNK Split of Croatia, Dorozhnik Minsk of Belarus and Golden Futsal Team of Finland
