UEFA Futsal Euro - Belgium 2014
by Luca Ranocchiari - Futsalplanet.com editor

Few hours have gone since the end of the UEFA Futsal EURO - Belgium 2014 challenge and we'd like to underline the best characters, the ones who proved to be the best ones in the 20 games we have attended here in Antwerp.

First of all: the level of the competition has been pretty high and that's a fact. Great organization, good attendance, entertaining and thrilling matches. Definitely a big win for UEFA and the URBSFA.

On the pitch: deserved title for Italy, a perfect machine after their first defeat to Slovenia.

So, who were the best ones?

Best Player of UEFA Futsal EURO - Belgium 2014 by Futsalplanet.com:

Gabriel Lima (Italy)
The brazilian born player is the new "brain" of continental futsal after the Kike's farewell to the spanish national team. A player able to do everything on the pitch, understanding the game seconds before the rival. Intelligence and technique on the same level, basically the portrait of the modern futsal player.

Top 5 of UEFA Futsal EURO - Belgium 2014 by Futsalplanet.com:

Goalkeeper
Stefano Mammarella (Italy)
The real hope of italian futsal and the starting point (if this is the aim) to develop and prepare players born in Italy, leaving the oriundi's easier way. Humble and hard to defeat. After the past season played under his usual standards, Mammarella proved to be in Antwerp one of the best interpreters of his role, once again.

Cierre
Robinho (Russia)
Though he could not relive a night like the ones spent in Charleroi, the Gazprom-Ugra star was definitely the engine for the russian squad, the first part of a process then finalized by his club mate Eder Lima. Skorovich has put him in front of Gustavo's goal, and the (maybe unexpected) choice was definitely not wrong.

Alas
Franko Jelovcic (Croatia)
He says that everybody was reminding him about his father's talent but no worries at all. Different players: the "crazy" Tino was the tipical balkans player of that time, pure talent. Franko has just confirmed to be a perfect player of today futsal: run, skills, tactics... everything.

Pivot
Eder Lima (Russia)
Top scorer and author of the best goal of Belgium 2014 (the masterpiece vs Portugal). The Gazprom-Ugra's pivot was the basic player for Sergey Skorovich in Antwerp, able to solve all problems and to replace the former "1st forward" Cirilo who could not play at his usual standards.

It's all over in Antwerp... see you in Belgrade!
