VIKINGS VERSUS AUCKLAND
The DAL PONTE VIKINGS this week played two games against the visiting AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND team. The Vikings showed the value of their training and preparation winning 6-2 and 5-1. All players went well but special mention to LUKE HAYDON who whenever on the ball caused problems.
AUCKLAND now moves onto Sydney for three games.

WORLD CUP NEWS
I mentioned last week two dates for the 2004 World Cup in Taiwan, however the exact start date is 29th November. We will definitely be sending a supporters tour to the tournament, with Mauricio Marques as guest tour leader. People on the tour will have the chance to meet and support the Brazilian team as well as whomever the Oceania qualifier is.
For further details on this tour contact Brian Keightley on 38752600 or email brian.k@qldfutsal.com.au

News from England is the tour of the UK is going well. The boy’s team drew 3-3 all with the Norwich City Youth soccer team and results from the Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and Sheffield United games will come in later.

KINDY FUTSAL RESURGES AT ACACIA RIDGE
Saturday mornings from 9.00 am to 11.00 am are now a buzz with over 40 kids coming down for Kindy Futsal and 6/7 games. Kindy is not competitive but fun for kids from 3 years to 6 years, with those who have gone through the programme playing games on the other court. We also have a Kindy programme in Toowoomba.
If you want more details come on down to the centre or ring Margaret on 38752600 or email Vikings@qldfutsal.com.au

MIXED FUTSAL
Sign ons across the state have seen big increases, and one of the biggest increases has been in Mixed Futsal. With simple rules to make it fun….a team must have two females on the court at all times and if a male scores a goal a female must score the next. Teams are formed from whole families (mum, dad, sons and daughters) and work teams (Mcdonalds, Retravision, etc) .You don’t have to have played Futsal or soccer before and grading of teams at centres makes it fun.
Nearly all clubs have mixed competitions, so enquire with your centre manager, email vikings@qldfutsal.com.au or ring state office on 38752600.

VALE DANIEL CHENOUDA
Death is a terrible thing, especially in one so young, but I have to report the death of Daniel Chenouda in a car accident. Daniel, 18, represented Queensland many times at the National Titles from the age 12 up and refereed in his teen years at both Logan and Mt Gravatt clubs.
Daniel was always well mannered and a pleasure to work with. Our condolences to his father Fred and his family.
