The Egyptian National Futsal squad pulled out of Tehran's four-side futsal competition on late friday night. Hopes of a last minute replacement by Kuwait were also dashed. However after some late activity by the Iranian football federation, the Armenian squad will now be taking part in the competitions.
Iran has lodged an official complaint against the last minute pull out of the Egyptian Team.
The four teams taking part will be the National Spanish Team, the National Armenian Team, the National Iranian Team, and the under-21 Iranian Team.
The Kuwaiti Futsal Team coached by former Iranian National Futsal Coach, Hossein Shams, who gained the number 4 spot in the AFC sponsored Asian Championships during the summer, was a sure entry, but due to tensions between Shams and Ansari-Fard, the present Iranian coach, Shams decided to keep away.
